The Future of Akans - Nana Baffour Gyanko Fofie I
September 6, 2010The Future of Akans in Cote d’Ivoire
The Official and traditional responsibility of the Adako Royal Family is to unite and preserve the Greater Akan family and to do everything possible to ensure its cohesiveness and harmony under the Adako Royal Stool as pledged by the Our Warrior Queen Nana Abla Poukou. The unity under the Akan Traditional Council in Cote d’Ivoire is not only a must but a responsibility of all Akan Royal houses and the total unification of the Akan people should be the ultimate objective of every Akan within the Sub-region.
The Responsibility of the Adako Royal Family vis-à-vis the Akans
The Responsibility of every Head of the Adako Royal family is to preserve the Unity and wellbeing of all Baoules, all Akans in Cote d’Ivoire in particular and the Akans in the Sub-region, in general. It is the responsibility of every Akan to be his or her neighbors’ keeper. Never at any material time should an Akan royal betray or abandon a brother or sister to damnation. If there is a quarrel among Akans by the great oath of any of our Ancestors or Onyankopon Kwame, it should be immediately forgiven, and it shall be brought to the chiefs and elders for official arbitration only if there is injustice. Brother Love and Forgiveness shall be the hallmark of Akan relationship.
God, the Royal House and the Future of the Monarchy
Since all God’s children are one under Him, Akans shall endeavor to seek His intervention and forgiveness in relation to each other. All Akans shall endeavor to resolve controversies between them amicably and always allow the bond of brotherhood sealed by the sacrifice of the La Reine Poukoua’s son and the purification of the Holy Blood of the Son of Onyankopon Kouame to guide our hearts in forgiving one another.
The Togolese Factor: -
The Guan, Chokosi and all the Akans who went to Togo and have lost contact with their relatives will be sought after and cultural and socio-economic linkages established to ensure harmony and prosperity between our peoples.
Akans in the Diaspora
The Adako Royal Family in these modern times shall endeavor to search and pursue the gathering of all the sons and daughters of Mother Africa that were one way or other sold into slavery, kept outside the mother continent and deprived of their ancestral home.
The Adako Royal Family shall at all times development new townships, cities and enclaves and bring and settle at home in Africa, all the sons and daughters who are still in the Diaspora until we as the Dakon Royal Dynasty, have with the help of God Almighty brought home every single African souls in the diasporas. Those in the Diaspora who voluntarily choose to stay shall be empowered economically so that where ever they chose to live they shall not be in want economically, socially, or culturally. There shall always be a socio-economic and cultural linkages between peoples of African descent worldwide and dynamic cultural exchanges to ensure the harmony and survival of our African personality and identity.
Nanan Houphouet Boigny, Servant of the Most High God and Ruler of the Akans and Ivory Coast helped us to abandon the ancestral worship and pointed us to the worship of the one true God of Creation.
